Kimberly Stathis Lentin Rose Necklace
SJBS is delighted to welcome back Kimberly Stathis, a nationally recognized creative beadwork designer and instructor who travels extensively teaching her designs. Her creative expression is inspired by the many colors, textures and shapes of the beads themselves. Teaching for thirteen years, Kim's designs have been featured at the Bead & Button show, and published in Bead & Button magazine and Showcase 500 Jewelry Book. .
This project has sophisticated elegance with a romantic flair. Kim's Lentin Rose necklace brings to mind a treasure found from a bygone era. The pendant is an elongated beadwork oval with a dimensional border. The center of the pendant has a flat beadwork foundation with a center made up of an embellished bezeled oval crystal stone. Pearl and crystal embellishments finish the top and bottom of the pendant. A flat beadwork necklace strap is attached to the pendant using large pearls and a seed bead loop.
Students will use Peyote and Right Angle Weave stitches to create this graceful necklace, completed with a loop and handmade button closure. Project level is "advanced." Students need to be comfortable with peyote stitch (increases, decreases, even and odd count), right angle weave (RAW) stitch and small beads
