  SJBS 2025 Bead Retreat
  

  November 7-9, 2025

  Bead Retreat 2025 will be a little different:

  Members Beading & Inspiring Members

  The originally scheduled instructor regrettably canceled for health reasons. But SJBS beaders shall not be deterred from a weekend of creativity, inspiration, relaxation in the bucolic MRH setting, and the enjoyment of each others’ company — even without an instructor!

  So pack a project or two to work on, save the weekend of November 7-9 on your calendar, and reserve your spot — rooms are limited!

  Venue: The Malvern Retreat House in the placid hills of  Malvern PA. The well-kept grounds, facility cleanliness, spacious accommodations, and very good food are sure to offer a memorable experience. The Family Life Center building offers single and double occupancy options. Each room has a private bathroom.

  Registration by April 15th:*

  Registration includes weekend overnight accommodations, and five meals:

  Single room per person $ 345

  Double room per person $ 300

  * $100 deposit due by April 15th; balance of full payment due by June 15th.

  • Space is limited to 16 attendees.
  • Cancellation Policy: last date to cancel with a refund is July 15th.

  * Beauties/Beasties Swap 

  - select a full tube of good quality seed beads (a lovely one for Beauties and less-lovely one for Beasties)

  - wrap each one separately.

  The Beauties go into one basket and the Beasties go into another.

  Those who participate will get to draw a surprise 

  Beauty and/or Beasty to add to your collection!

  * Earring/Pendant Exchange

  - make a pair of Earrings and/or a Pendant 

  (not religious-themed)

  - wrap each one separately.

  The Earrings go into one basket and the Pendants go into another.

  Those who participate will get to draw a surprise gift of Earrings and/or a Pendant!

  NOTE: You must register by November 26th to assure ample food.

  Dinner selections may include: 

  Cheese Tray, Salads, Grilled Salmon, Cheese Lasagna, Eggplant, Mac & Cheese, Grilled Veggies, Mini Rolls, Fruit Salad, Gourmet Cookies, Mini Pastries, Soda and Water.

   Is your UFO (UnFinished Objects), WIP (Works In Progress),  PHD (Projects Half Done), or BEP (Bead Education Projects)  stack  growing?

   Pick a project and bring it to UFO Day!

   It’s a dedicated ‘bead in’ with SJBS kindred spirits to whittle  down that stack.

   Just bring whatever supplies you’ll need, along with your  lunch, to the  Camden County Library Voorhees.

   There is no charge for the event, but you must register to  ensure ample seating by January 21st!

  Caged Crystals Bracelet Class!

    Learn how to capture sparkling crystals in rings of   chain maille!

  
  

  
  

    Level: Beginner, but comfortable using pliers with both    

    hands to open and close rings. 

    Supply List: A Supply List will be provided to confirmed

    registrants.

  
  

    Kits: Kits are available and built for a 7” wrist.* 

  Kits include rings (sterling silver filled), clasp (stainless steel magnetic), and various bits needed to assemble the bracelet. 

  Kits without crystals $25 (7” bracelet), add $3 for each additional inch, if needed

  Kits with crystals $35 (Crystal Passions bicones, 7” bracelet), add $4 for each additional inch, if needed. 

    * Kits must be pre-ordered by January 28th.

      To pre-order a kit, register for the class first, then

      Please indicate desired crystal color. 

      Kits can be paid for at the class.

      Instructor will bring pre-ordered kits to the class.

    Instructor: Kristina has been making wheel thrown pottery     for more than 25 years and has been creating handmade   jewelry for even longer than that! During COVID she used   her extra time to design and create ceramic cabochons   which many of the SJBS members enjoy using in their   projects. She has been a member of the SJBS for 10+ years   and has taught for us before. This is your chance to enjoy

    another fun filled class with Kristina.

    Class fee: $55 SJBS members; $85 Nonmembers

    Registration deadline: February 14, 2026
