   Is your UFO (UnFinished  Objects), WIP (Works In  Progress), PHD (Projects Half  Done), or BEP (Bead Education  Projects) stack  growing?

   Pick a project and bring it to  UFO Day!

           

   It’s a dedicated ‘bead in’  with  SJBS kindred spirits  to whittle  down that stack.

   Just bring whatever supplies you’ll need, along with your  lunch, to the  Camden County Library Voorhees.

  
  

   There is no charge for the event, but you must register to  ensure ample seating by April 24th.

  This is the only event of the year when members can sell

  and/or trade at a monthly program. 

      Shopping is open to the public*, but only members can get a free table. 

  And members who take a table keep 100% of their Flea Market sales!

     * Non-member Guest shoppers pay only the regular $5 fee.

  Starlight Spice Jar Class!

  
  

    Learn how to embellish a spice jar   using bead weaving!

    A simple spice jar, once beaded, will

    become a treasured keepsake.

  
  

    Students will combine netting and

    peyote stitches to create this          

    stunning collectible.

  
  

    Level: Intermediate.

   

    Kits: Kits are available in four color ways for $45 each, paid

    to the instructor at class:*

       • Silver/Blue  • Green/Copper  • Gold/Purple  • Peach

  
  

    Kits include spice jar (approx. 1.75 x 4.75 inches), beads for  

    one color way, and all supplies except #10 or 12 beading

    needle, and 6 lb. and 10 lb. Fire Line.

   

    * Kits must be pre-ordered by May 7th.

      To pre-order a kit, register for the class first, then

      Be sure to specify color way.

      Instructor will bring pre-ordered kits to the class, a few

      extra kits, and extra spice jars for $2 each.

    Nicki is a long-time active SJBS vendor member and  

    proprietor of Madison Made Jewelry.    

    She has taught for SJBS in the past, as well as for several

    bead stores. Her favorite beading projects are 3D vessels.

    We're happy to welcome her back!

• Bead Rendezvous: Owl Be Beading

  Bead Rendezvous

  

   SJBS Members are invited to Bead Rendezvous with Owl Be Beading on  May 31 in person and on Zoom. Zoom session for the project will be from  1 to 3 PM, but also be available during store hours if you wish to log on  before the class.

   In-store participation is limited to 15 people; and unlimited via Zoom. A  link will be sent to Zoom participants closer to the date of the event.

   You must call the shop to reserve a spot for both in-person and Zoom  participation.

   The store is open from 10 AM to 6 PM; come for part or all day.

   Food and drink can be brought in – you can use the refrigerator,  microwave, and toaster oven. You can also order from a local deli if you  would rather not pack a lunch. All drinks must have secured lids on them  to minimize spills.

   A 10% discount is applied to all purchases in the shop, except for  consignment items, class registration, and gift cards. This discount will  already have been applied to the kits and pattern for the Bead  Rendezvous project.

  Floral Necklace, Brooch and Valley of the   Flowers Lariat

       Designed, Constructed and Donated by:

   This year’s truly unique raffle prize is the original creation of  Patricia Parker, award winning contemporary seed bead artist,  educator, and author. 

   Patti and this 3-piece floral compilation of a necklace, brooch  and  lariat earned international recognition through the TOHO  2019 Challenge.  TOHO Beads, known for exquisite quality and  color in the production of  glass beads, sponsors an annual  challenge — the same beads and color  assortment, which  change every year, are assembled to challenge and  inspire  beadwork artists.      

   Patti’s stunning interpretation of her vision from mere  containers of  beads reflects her passion for flowers and  nature.

    

  
  

   This elegant necklace measures  approximately 28 inches in length;  the  Valley of the Flowers lariat  measures  approximately 43  inches; the brooch  measures  approximately 2 inches in  diameter.

   Two ways to participate and buy tickets: 

  • In person at the Katz JCC: Check out the prizes and buy tickets on-site, then drop them in the brown bag of the item number(s) you hope to win. Allocate as many tickets per item as you wish.

  • Zoom: Check out the prizes, choose a Ticket Purchase option by 'registering' for this event, and pay by PayPal. Prior to the event, a SJBS Auction Committee member will email your ticket numbers, ask how you'd like to allocate them, then drop them in the brown bag of the item number(s) you would like to win.

  The deadline to buy tickets online is June 2nd

   Prize drawings begin promptly at 7:15 p.m. If your number matches the  number drawn, you win that prize! This is a hybrid event, but you  need not be present to win. Prizes will ship to U.S. addresses for a            $11.50 s/h charge to be paid by lucky U.S. winners, unless pick-up  arrangements can be made. No international shipping.

  SJBS 2025 Bead Retreat
  

  November 7-9, 2025

  Bead Retreat 2025 will be a little different:

  Members Beading & Inspiring Members

  The originally scheduled instructor regrettably canceled for health reasons. But SJBS beaders shall not be deterred from a weekend of creativity, inspiration, relaxation in the bucolic MRH setting, and the enjoyment of each others’ company — even without an instructor!

  So pack a project or two to work on, save the weekend of November 7-9 on your calendar, and reserve your spot — rooms are limited!

  Venue: The Malvern Retreat House in the placid hills of  Malvern PA. The well-kept grounds, facility cleanliness, spacious accommodations, and very good food are sure to offer a memorable experience. The Family Life Center building offers single and double occupancy options. Each room has a private bathroom.

  Registration by April 15th:*

  Registration includes weekend overnight accommodations, and five meals:

  Single room per person $ 345

  Double room per person $ 300

  * $100 deposit due by April 15th; balance of full payment due by June 15th.
